We are always trying to create innovative designs and seek inspiration through our surroundings.  Our latest centerpiece creations are particularly yummy. 

The first centerpiece is a Manzanita tree (California origin) with Phalaenopsis Orchids designed to appear  organic and sculpted.  The hanging flowers are subtly dangled, appearing as robust raindrops, which accessorizes the overall lush aesthetic.

The second fabric centerpiece uses Dendrobiums Orchids to create a softly layered affect, which gives the centerpiece elegant movement.  The flowers are subdued enough to be profound, yet unobtrusive atop any table.

Both centerpieces have versatile flowers that will have an even greater visual impact when enhanced through your event lighting.

How to Never Spend Valentine's Day Alone

Invariably on February 14, 2010 some people will smile and some people will cringe. There are those individuals, couples, friends, even co-workers, however, who have found that the day is not solely meant to be spent in pairs.

Valentine's Day, makes a great excuse to host a memorable event. The theme is implied and instead of exchanging loving glances and holding hands with one person, maybe you decide to play love songs or "anti-love songs" with your closest friends. You could also set certain fun rules that no couples are invited to your party or that couples have to treat their significant others like people they are just meeting for the first time. Yes, it sounds a bit like role playing, but I don't think you'll receive any complaints.

So you have the theme and the decorations should be easy. Heart decorations, rose-scented candles, and colors of red, pink, white, all spell Valentine's Day. If you want to add a bit of mystery to your event, try adding some dark purples or even black tones to your Valentine's Day floral decor. As gift favors, you can give guests little boxes of chocolates or flowers that are personalized with a ribbon bearing your name or better yet - from "a secret admirer."

Bride-to-Bride: No More Boring Napkins

The holidays are a great excuse to spice up your cloth napkins. Not only can you do this for your wedding event, but in your own home!

For an event we did earlier this year, we wrapped the stem of a flower around a textured napkin. The calla gave the thicker stem a more delicate feel, but also complemented the thicker feel and appearance of the rolled napkin.

If you want to use a holiday plant that you may already have, like a poinsettia and have silk or raffia ribbon, you can thread the ribbon into your flowers and tie them around your napkins!

There Is More Than One Way to Be Creative

Many of us have heard the phrase “thinking outside of the box,” but what about thinking “around” the box instead? Many event designers start with a concept, colors, and a venue, but what about thinking beyond those initial visuals? At the heart of our event design is the bride and groom and minimizing any stress or anxiety that the couple may feel during their wedding. A bride or couple’s wedding should reflect fundamental aspects of what is wanted yet provide all that is needed with a sense of style.

The designer should know how the bride wishes to showcase her décor, lighting, and other aspects of a wedding as it pertains to the venue location. We strive to think and create outside of the box as well as innovate ways to reinvent the box when the need arises. This will ensure not only a creative wedding, but something that is uniquely your own.
